FORMAL CHARTER OF
THE
NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MIGRANT AND SEASONAL
FARMWORKER VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION
AS OF THIS 20TH DAY, OF THE MONTH OF JUNE,
IN THE YEAR 2001, A.D.
WE here by associate to form this ALLIANCE and unto that end set forth the following:
(A) THAT the name of this ALLIANCE is THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MIGRANT AND SEASONAL FARMWORKER VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION. (NAMSFVR)
(B) THE purposes for establishing this ALLIANCE is: To enhance career, employment and other opportunities for Migrant and/or Seasonal Farmworkers with disabilities and their families that will lead to self-sufficiency by promoting advocacy, collaboration, coordination, and sharing of knowledge and resources among individuals and other entities with similar goals; To acquire personal property and equipment by gift, donation, dues, devise and otherwise for the sole purpose of the promotion of the general welfare and well-being of the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker and their families; all of which purposes are to be carried out not for profit, and that no part of the net earning shall be distributable to its board members, officers or other private persons. It may pay reasonable compensation for services rendered.
(C) THE number of Executive Board Members, who are to manage the affairs of THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MIGRANT AND SEASONAL FARMWORKER VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION (NAMSFVR) is to be fixed by the by-laws, and vacancies in such number are to be filled by majority vote of the members of NAMSFVR present at any regular meeting, unless specified in the by-laws.
(D) ADDRESS (?)
(E) AN initial Executive Board of Directors shall be set, with terms limited up to and including the day of election of the formal members of the Executive Board of Directors as stipulated in the by-laws.
(F) THE number of Project 304 Directors constituting the initial Executive Board is Five (5) and the names and addresses of the persons who are to serve as the initial Executive Board of Directors are:
1. President: Sophia Martinez
2. Past President: Jerry Jimenez
3. Vice President: Noami Ortega
4. Secretary: Sam Medina
5. Treasure: Ralph Sinistro
