Welcome to CCER

The Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER) is dedicated to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities by providing specialized rehabilitation training and technical assistance in the Pacific NW and beyond.  CCER is a part of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington (http://rehab.washington.edu) and collaborates with the U.W. Center on Technology and Disability Studies (http://uwctds.washington.edu ) in the Center for Human Development and Disability.

CCER's current projects include TACE Northwest, Northwest ADA Center, Rehabilitation Leadership; and a variety of training programs, technical assistance, and consultation aimed at enhancing the employment of individuals with disabilities. The TACE is one of ten regional Technical Assistance and Continuing Education Centers funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) to provide training and technical assistance to state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies and their partners. Through the Northwest ADA Center, CCER also provides information, training, and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  The staff at CCER are committed to offering quality services responsive to the current needs of our customers.

Our Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington-focused team of trainers and consultants work with state and community-based rehabilitation professionals, organizations and businesses, educators, and schools, as well as people with disabilities and their families by providing:

As we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the signing of the ADA, we thought we'd ask individuals who were adults at the time of the signing and are still involved with disability issues to look ahead twenty years and share with us their vision of the future.

NEW SURVEY!

In partnership with regional state VR agencies, the TACE has just completed a survey of the community organizations (CRPs) that contract to provide job development, discovery, job support, and other services.  Survey information includes agency size and location, services provided to VR participants, disabilities experienced by those served, and training needs.  You can access an Excel spreadsheet summarizing the results by clicking here.  If you have questions or comments, please send them to Laurie Ford at lhf4@u.washington.edu.
